I feel like we go through phases in life - the high moments where everything is going great and the low moments where you want to run away from everything. And in low these moments, we have two choices - to give up or keep going. Wild blueberries help us to keep trying.
Right now, I'm in a low moment. It's ok.
Just like the seasons, we have periods of transformation and success, then periods of rest and reflection.
Whenever I feel lost or confused or start to question things, I put my trust into the universe. I trust that everything is happening for a reason. I trust that every situation and person I encounter has something to teach me. I trust that I'm headed in the right direction.
According to Medical Medium, wild blueberries can help you find the light when you're in the dark. Right now, I'm in the dark. Medical Medium says in his book, Life Changing Foods, "On both ends of the spectrum, in fire and ice, wild blueberries don't just survive; they triumph. They take an adverse circumstance, meet it, and become better for it. When you eat this supernatural fruit, that indestructible essence becomes a part of you".
I think that's pretty neat. It makes sense to me that if a food goes through adversity during their growing process and becomes stronger because of it, we can't help but take on those properties
ourselves when we consume them.
I need that right now. I think a lot of us do.
I also needed the reminder that adversity leads to strength. We need challenges to grow. We need adversity to remind us of our power.
Wild blueberries are extremely prominent in my diet - although I haven't had them much lately. Coincidence? Maybe.
They are delicious and have so many healing properties. They are the ultimate healer; they protect and prevent. They are extremely high in antioxidants and are great for detoxing heavy metals from the body.
There is a theory that thinks the build up of heavy metals in our bodies leads to Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and that EBV is the root cause of many mystery illnesses. And I'm pretty sure it's the root cause of my fatigue and brain fog.
I've been trying to add in more foods that Medical Medium claims to help heal EBV. This smoothie has a few of them: wild blueberries, raspberries, spinach, kale, and coconut oil.
Wild blueberries are also great for gut health, brain health, heart health, eye health, diabetes prevention, protecting against age-related macular degeneration, and urinary tract infections. They are full of vitamin C and fibre.
If you're feeling down or lost or confused or lonely or tired or exhausted, try adding some wild blueberries into your life!
When you're in a low moment, I think it's nice to know that you're not alone. This is why I share what I do. It's hard to be vulnerable or sensitive because it can be perceived as weak. I get it. But I think true strength is expressing yourself unapologetically and not caring what anyone thinks. Because deep down, everyone has similar feelings, but they're too afraid to show them. What if we all just expressed ourselves? The judgment would be gone.
Stay sweet, loves!
